ANSWER: The MeteoShield® Professional accepts a large variety of probes ranging from small 1 mm Thermistors and 3 mm diameter RTD’s and PT100 sensors from Apogee Instruments and Campbell Scientific, to large 25 mm diameter HMP155 meteorological probes from Vaisala and Rotronic.

  • The standard cable gland (sensor clamp) which is included with the MeteoShield Pro is an M25 gland which accepts sensor diameters of up to Ø20 mm (up to Ø0.787in or just over Ø3/4” diameter).

  • A grommet insert adapter is available. It can be purchased at many hardware stores and is usually called a “Cable Gland Reduction Sealing Rubber Insert”.

  • An M16 gland with a M25 to M16 reduction is available and accepts sensor diameters from Ø5 mm to Ø10 mm (up to V0.394in or just over Ø3/8” diameter).

  • An M12 gland with a M25 to M12 reduction is also available as shown in the photos and accepts sensor diameters from Ø3 mm to Ø6.5 mm (up to Ø0.256in or just over Ø1/4” diameter).

  • An M32 gland is also available as special order for the MeteoShield® Professional. It expands the acceptable sensor diameter to Ø26 mm or Ø1 inch. This enables users to retrofit their Rotronic MP100 and MP400 sensors with the MeteoShield® Pro to finally achieve WMO precision in the real world, in all-weather and outside of the laboratory.
